GENERAL END OF LIFE/PALLIATIVE CARE EDUCATION WORKSHOPS
​This course used to run
over two days however, it has now been split up into three morning sessions.
For qualified
non-specialist nurses, junior qualified staff working within specialist
palliative care units, senior health care assistants and allied health
professionals working within specialist palliative care. This course is free of
charge.
Develop your skills
in palliative and end of life care for adults.
You are invited to
attend three mornings of education based on the Department of Health End of
Life competences (2008).
Session 1: What is Palliative Care, Assessment in Palliative Care,
Breathlessness, Nausea & Vomiting and Pain
Session 2: Last Year of Life, Recognition of Dying, Anticipatory
Medicines and Syringe Drivers
Session 3: Mental Capacity Act, Communication Skills and Advance Care Planning
There are 15 places
available per programme. If you book onto one session, we ask that you please
attend all three sessions.
